Ischnocnema manezinho is a small frog endemic to the island of Santa Catarina, where most of the state capital, Florianópolis, is located. The species is vulnerable due to the increasing urbanization of the city, which threatens to take over the last remaining green areas.

O desenvolvimento da ilha de Santa Catarina (Florianópolis) é a maior ameaça ao manezinho. Seu ambiente está sendo destruído para a expansão da área urbana da cidade.

O manezinho é um tipo de sapo com desenvolvimento direto, ou seja, não possui fase de girino e não depende da água para reprodução. Ainda assim, depende de locais úmidos e sombreados.
