ENDANGERED AMPHIBIANS
Four out of ten amphibian species in the world are threatened with extinction. Many could disappear from the planet before we have the opportunity to meet them. In Brazil, about 16% of amphibian species are considered endangered. According to the Ministry of Environment Official List there are 66 endangered species, with an alarming 26 species listed as Critically Endangered - Probably Extinct. In addition to these, there are tree frog species that are already considered extinct. Many of these endangered species are rare and virtually unknown to the public - documenting and protecting them is the main purpose of DoTS.
